All Things New
Revelation 21-22
This week, in our FINAL OPEN THE WORD, our church is reading Revelation 8-22. We have reached the end! This Sunday we will lift our eyes to the breathtaking hope of Revelation 21–22, where God pulls back the curtain on our future and shows us the world He is making new—a renewed creation, a radiant people, and a forever home filled with His glorious presence. This message traces the Bible’s story to its triumphant end, where death is gone, the curse is lifted, tears are dried, and God Himself dwells with His redeemed people, face-to-face. Far from vague or dreamlike, Scripture gives us a concrete, joy-stirring vision of eternity that steadies weary hearts, strengthens faith in suffering, and shapes how we live today as we await Christ’s certain return. If you’ve ever wondered why heaven is not just good but gloriously better than you imagined, this message is meant to rekindle your hope and remind you where the story—and your story—is headed! A Marriage That Looks Like Christ
Ephesians 5:22-33
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Hebrews 1-13, James 1-5, and 1 Peter 1-2. We are coming to the end! This Sunday we’ll be opening God’s Word to Ephesians 5:22–33 to tackle one of the most misunderstood—and most beautiful—passages on marriage in the Bible. Far from being outdated or harsh, this text shows us that marriage was designed to put the gospel on display, with husbands called to a costly, Christlike love and wives called to a joyful, Christ-centered respect. We’ll see how God’s design isn’t about power or preference, but about reflecting Jesus to one another and to a watching world. Whether your marriage feels strong, strained, or somewhere in between—or even if you’re not married—this message will challenge, encourage, and lift your eyes to the bigger purpose God has for our homes. Come ready to hear how ordinary, imperfect marriages can become living pictures of Christ’s redeeming love. To watch, CLICK HERE

A Race Worth Runnig
1 Corinthians 9:19-27
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading 2 Corinthians 10-13, Galatians 1-6, Ephesians 1-6, Philippians 1-4, and Colossians 1-4. Wow, what a powerful week of reading!
This Sunday, since we missed last week due to snow, we’ll step into one of the most vivid calls to Christian discipleship in the New Testament. In 1 Corinthians 9:19–27, Paul reminds us that the gospel is worth more than our comfort, our preferences, and even our personal rights—and that following Christ means running the race of faith with real purpose, real sacrifice, and real discipline. We’ll explore what it looks like to lay ourselves down for the sake of winning others to Christ, to reject the drift of casual Christianity, and to run with our eyes fixed on an eternal prize that will never fade. So if you’re feeling spiritually sluggish after a hearty Thanksgiving feast, or are simply in need of renewed focus, this is a message you won’t want to miss! To watch, CLICK HERE

Declared Righteous by Grace Alone
Romans 3:21-28
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Romans 1-16. This Sunday we’re stepping into the very heart of the gospel as we open Romans 3:21–28 and behold the breathtaking truth that changed Luther, ignited the Reformation, and still frees sinners today. How can a guilty person stand righteous before a holy God? The answer isn’t found in our works, our rituals, or our moral striving—but in God’s grace alone, received through faith in Christ alone. We’ll contrast Scripture’s clear teaching with a works-based system that still holds millions in fear, and we’ll celebrate the glory of a salvation that silences boasting and fuels worship. If you need clarity, confidence, and fresh joy in the finished work of Jesus, you don’t want to miss this Sunday! To Watch, CLICK HERE

The Forgotten Command of the Gospel
Acts 17:20-31
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Acts 7-28 This Sunday we will be opening Acts 17:30–31 to hear a message titled “The Forgotten Command of the Gospel.” In a time when the word repentance has nearly vanished from modern Christianity, Scripture reminds us that God still “commands all people everywhere to repent.” We will rediscover that repentance isn’t an optional add-on to faith—it’s the very evidence of true salvation, the turning from all sin to Jesus Christ as Lord. This message will challenge our hearts, expose empty belief, and call us back to the transforming grace that still saves sinners today. Don’t miss this powerful reminder that the gospel of Jesus demands not just belief—but a surrendered life. To Watch, CLICK HERE

The Heart of the High Priest
John 17
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading John 9-21 and Acts 1-6. This Sunday at Westview we will look at “The Heart of the High Priest” from John 17. Before Jesus went to the cross, He prayed. And in that prayer, we glimpse His heart—not just for the disciples in the upper room, but for us. In John 17, the curtain is pulled back and we hear the Son speaking to the Father about His people. He prays that we would be guarded in truth, united in love, and glorified with Him forever. This is the true “Lord’s Prayer”—the High Priest of heaven interceding for His own. Come ready to listen—not just to a sermon, but to a Savior who still prays for you. To watch, CLICK HERE

John 1:1-18

Before anything existed, He was; in love, He became; and even now, He reveals the glory and grace of God to us. John’s Gospel invites us to behold Jesus not as a distant figure of history but as the eternal Word made flesh—the very heartbeat of creation and redemption. When you see Him rightly, you cannot remain unchanged. Come ready to lift your eyes and rediscover the wonder of the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us! To Watch, CLICK HERE

You Give Them Something to Eat
Luke 9:10-17
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Luke 4-18. This Sunday we are looking at one of the most remarkable moments in the Gospels—when Jesus told His disciples, “You give them something to eat.” In Luke 9:10–17, five loaves and two fish became a feast for thousands, not because the disciples had enough, but because they placed what they had in the hands of the all-sufficient Savior. This isn’t just a story about bread—it’s about trust. It’s about what happens when we stop saying “I can’t” and start believing “He can.” The same Jesus who fed the multitude still multiplies our small offerings today, turning weakness into ministry and scarcity into abundance! Don’t miss this Sunday as we learn how Christ calls ordinary people like us to be part of His miraculous work—right here in Albert City! Come ready to be fed and sent out to feed others! Mark 10:17-31
|
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Mark 8-16; Luke 1-3.
This Sunday at Westview we’ll be diving into one of the most revealing encounters in all of Scripture—The Rich Young Ruler from Mark 10:17-31—in a message titled “The One Thing You Can’t Let Go.” Jesus looked into that young man’s heart and exposed the one treasure he loved more than God, not to shame him but to free him. In the same way, Christ lovingly calls us to surrender every rival treasure so we can find true riches in Him. Don’t miss this powerful message about letting go of what cannot last to gain what can never be lost. Join us as we discover that following Jesus always leads to greater joy, deeper freedom, and the only treasure that truly satisfies. To watch, CLICK HERE

Dressed for the King's Joy
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Matthew 22-28; Mark 1-7. This Sunday, we’ll explore Jesus’ parable in Matthew 22:1–14, where He likens the kingdom of heaven to a royal wedding feast prepared by a gracious King for His Son. In a message titled “Dressed for the King’s Joy,” we’ll see how God’s invitation to salvation is not just a summons—it’s a personal call into His joy. Yet this joyful invitation must be received on His terms: by coming when He calls, being clothed in Christ’s righteousness, and joining His mission to invite others. Don’t miss this powerful reminder that the gospel is both a comfort and a warning—the feast is ready, the robe is provided, and the King is calling you by name. Will you come? To watch, CLICK HERE
The Blessed Life According to Jesus
This week in OPEN THE WORD our church is reading Matthew 5-21. This Sunday we will look at the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1-12 and answer the question: what does it really mean to live a “blessed” life? In a world that equates blessing with wealth, comfort, and success, Jesus turns everything upside down in the Beatitudes. He declares that true blessing belongs to the humble, the sorrowful, the meek, and the hungry—for they are the ones who live under God’s favor. This Sunday we’ll discover how the Sermon on the Mount paints a radically different picture of joy and flourishing: one not rooted in worldly achievement, but in belonging to Christ’s kingdom. Come ready to be challenged, encouraged, and reoriented toward the values of heaven! To watch, CLICK HERE

Zephaniah 3:14-17
This week our church is reading Habakkuk 1-3, Zephaniah 1-3, Haggai 1-2, Zechariah 1-14, Malachi 1-4, and Matthew 1-4. This Sunday we’ll hear one of the most stunning promises in all of Scripture—Zephaniah 3:14-17, where God doesn’t just save His people, He sings over them. Too often we picture God as disappointed or frustrated with us, but His Word says He delights in His children with loud singing, quiets us with His love, and assures us of His presence. Out of judgment comes joy, out of fear comes peace, and out of shame comes the song of God. Join us as we discover what it means to live not under God’s frown, but under His smile and song.

Jonah 2:1-10
This week our church is reading Hosea 8-14, Joel 1-3, Amos 1-9, Obadiah, Jonah 1-4, Micah 1-7, and Nahum 1-3. The New Testament is around the corner! This Sunday we’ll open the book of Jonah—not as a children’s tale about a runaway prophet and a big fish, but as a piercing reminder of God’s relentless mercy. Jonah ran, but God’s mercy ran faster, chasing him through storms, into the deep, and even into his hardened heart. And just like Jonah, we often resist God’s call, wanting grace for ourselves but judgment for others. Yet the God who wouldn’t let Jonah run is the same God who pursues us in love, rescues us in Christ, and sends us out with His heart for the lost. Come ready to be challenged and encouraged by the God who refuses to let go of His people—and who calls us to join Him in His mission.

Daniel 6
Preparing for Sunday: This week our church is reading Ezekiel 43-48, Daniel 1-12, and Hosea 1-7. This Sunday at Westview we’ll be in Daniel 6, one of the most beloved stories in the Bible—Daniel in the lion’s den! But this is more than a children’s tale; it’s a summons to courageous, consistent faith in a world that pressures us to compromise. Daniel shows us that faithfulness invites opposition, that steadfast hearts are forged in the daily habits of prayer and obedience, and that our God is faithful to deliver His people—whether from the den or through it. Ultimately, Daniel’s story points us to Jesus, the greater Deliverer who entered the pit of death and rose victorious. Come ready to be challenged and encouraged to remain steadfast, knowing our God is both sovereign and near!

Ecclesiastes
Preparing for Sunday:
This week our church is reading Proverbs 19-31 and Ecclesiastes 1-8. On Sunday we will focus on the message of Ecclesiastes. The book of Ecclesiastes confronts us with the sobering reality that everything “under the sun”—wisdom, pleasure, work, wealth—is ultimately meaningless apart from God. Solomon, the Preacher, explored all these avenues and found them to be “vanity,” like chasing after the wind. But Ecclesiastes doesn’t leave us in despair because it also presents another way to live than just “under the sun.” That way is “under the Son of God.” Everything changes when you begin to live life under the Son of God. On Sunday we will look at how Proverbs points us to Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:24 says that Jesus is “the wisdom from God,” and Colossians 2:3 says, “In him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” We all desperately need Jesus’ wisdom because we all, by virtue of our sinful nature, are inherently foolish. So join us on Sunday as we consider from Proverbs what biblical wisdom is and how we attain it through the finished work of Christ.

Preparing for Sunday:
This week our church is reading Psalm 108-145. On Sunday we will look at Psalm 139. Our BIG IDEA is that we can trust God to examine us and change us. Our reasons for this are that God knows us intimately, is with us constantly, and has made us wonderfully. It can make us feel vulnerable and uneasy when anyone tries to critique our lifestyle or discern our hearts, yet God is One who can be trusted with this exercise. We all need this because we are easily deceived by our sinful hearts. Join us on Sunday to look more closely at this psalm of reflection.

This week our church is reading Psalm 40-77. On Sunday we will look at Psalm 37. Our big question is, “Why do the wicked seem to win?” Have you ever asked that before? We all feel at times there isn’t a benefit to being godly in this world. Psalm 37 addresses this question by calling us to three essential responses: (1) Trust in the Lord, (2) Be content in the Lord, and (3) Do good for the Lord. From Rebellion to Redemption: Findiing God Amidst Our Golden Calves
Exodus 32
Preparing for Sunday:
This week our church is reading Exodus 25-Leviticus 4. On Sunday we will look at Exodus 32: The episode of the idolatrous golden calf. We will see that while God takes sin seriously, it doesn’t keep Him from acting graciously. Our main point is that even in our moments of greatest failure and rebellion, God’s mercy invites us to turn back to Him and find true redemption. I wonder what your “golden calf” is? Join us Sunday to see how God’s grace both invites us to change and enables our freedom.

Manna in the Wilderness: Trusting God to Provide
Exodus 16
Preparing for Sunday:
This week our church is reading Exodus 3-24. On Sunday we will recap this section of Scripture and also look at God’s provision of manna in the wilderness. We all are quick to question, quick to doubt, and quick to grumble. We may be disgusted by the reaction of the Israelites, but my bet is we would have responded the same way: Distrust and grumbling. Yet in His infinite grace, God still gave His people all they needed for each day. He does the same with us today through Jesus Christ! Join us Sunday as we unpack these powerful principles of God’s provision!

Standing Firm in Temptation: The Story of Joseph
Genesis 39:1-23
Preparing for Sunday:
This week our church is reading Genesis 35-Exodus 3. Congratulations in advance for getting through the first book of the Bible! 65 more to go! On Sunday we will recap this section of Scripture and also look at the life of Joseph. We will see how he dealt with trials and temptations. Our bid idea will be this: In a world filled with temptation, we must rely on God's strength to uphold our integrity and remain faithful to Him, just as Joseph did in Egypt. We hope to see you there!
